Centennial Celebration
The Cathedral Choirs
Michael McCarthy, Director
Erik Wm. Suter and Scott Hanoian, Organists
with guests Washington Symphonic Brass.

A stunning record in sound of the evolution of the majestic music of the Washington National Cathedral! A vibrant music program has supported the Anglican tradition at Washington National Cathedral since the laying of the foundation stone on September 29, 1907. Edgar Priest, first organist and choirmaster for the Cathedral, led the music on that day. This recording presents his compositions and those of others who have written a rich history of Cathedral music. They are the leaders and teachers who have helped shape the identity of American church music.
