This CD is unique among choral and organ recordings. The Mass for choir and two organs and motets by Charles-Marie Widor, as well as music by Phillippe Bellenot and Lefébure-Wély are presented amidst organ improvisations by St. Sulpice Titulaire, Daniel Roth, recreating a liturgy that would have been heard in St. Sulpice at the time this music was composed, and when Widor himself was the organist. The choirs hired by JAV Recordings and recorded here are French and recreate the choir Widor and Bellenot would have had at St. Sulpice. The extensive booklet and all notes are in English, French and German. The SACD surround sound recording is playable on all CD players.
